Most of us are well aware that the temperature at which water freezes is the temperature at which ice begins to form. We also know that the colder the water, the longer it takes to freeze. So what the heck is the real reason for all this scientific nonsense? It turns out that we are more afraid of the cold than we really believe. In fact, the true temperature of the water can be up to 40°C colder than the temperature of the air.
So is water really warmer? Apparently not. It is actually colder than the air, but not by much. The air is about 0.5C colder than the surface of the Earth. In fact, the air is the lowest temperature anywhere on Earth. So if you have a hot shower and some ice cubes in it, you are in fact cooling your body. So far, only Earth has been cooling itself.
The only thing that we’re sure of is the fact that water cools itself faster than air. Which is probably why we don’t feel cold. There are several other explanations to why we are cold, but the fact remains that water is cold.
The fact is that it’s cold in some places and warm in others. It’s just relative. It’s not really that cold all over the place, but the air is definitely colder than the surface of the Earth. The fact that it’s colder near the surface of the Earth is what makes it feel really cold (and not just uncomfortable).

As a result, many people are confused by the meaning of this term. “Global warming” is an umbrella term that can mean different things to different people. The meaning can be that the Earth is experiencing global warming, a warming of the Earths surface, or a “warming of the Earths surface by some other means.
