Siddhu Paaji is the first course on our brunch menu. It’s a smooth-as-silk curry, made with coconut milk and served with sautéed red onions, fresh coconut, and fried shallots. The taste is light and fresh, and definitely different from the usual white chira, which I prefer.
The main difference between Siddhu Paaji and the rest of the brunch menu is that we serve it with a plate of our own homemade sweet potato fries. Those serve as the perfect accompaniment to the curry, while being a better way to eat the curry than the plate would have. Our sweet potato fries are super pretty. They are lightly fried with a sweet potato masala and a little bit of a bit of coconut and onion. The result is a crispy and crunchy top and a soft, sweet potato bottom. I don’t recommend them for a main course though, I find the sweet potato fries to be too soft and the masala too overpowering.

So the other option you have is to eat them with a fork. If I was going to do that, I would do it with a fork to get all the good flavor out of the potatoes and have it taste like a sweet potato. But if I was going to do it with a spoon, I would probably do a little more frying (and some buttering). I think its up to you to determine which style of potato you would prefer.
Okay, I can’t say that I’ve tried this recipe, and I’m not sure if it tastes all that great, but I don’t think I would recommend it to anyone. I think I would probably just leave it out and just serve it with some plain boiled rice, but I’m not sure if you would. It’s up to you.
